The Star Dwellers Launch!!

The Star Dwellers has arrived! Adele and Tawni, and Tristan and Roc are back and ready for action as they go their separate ways to uncover the secrets that cloud their very different pasts.  For me, writing the sequel to my YA dystopian novel, The Moon Dwellers, was a real challenge. I felt like I packed every ounce of my emotion into the first book, so I was concerned I wouldn't be able to bring anything more to the sequel.

In the end, I dug down really deep and grabbed hold of the darkest and happiest moments of my life in the midst of an 8-hour (9,000 word) writing session after which I was left shaking and tearful. Honestly, it was a completely new experience for me and I found a new level of emotion with which to fill the pages of my books. I truly hope you all enjoy reading about the adventure as much as I did writing it!

Here's where you can find The Star Dwellers (Click on your favorite place to buy for a link to the site and my book!), and, just in case you haven't read it yet, The Moon Dwellers, too! :) :) :)

The Star Dwellers Cover Reveal!!

With only 4 days until the release of The Star Dwellers, the sequel to my YA dystopian book, The Moon Dwellers, I'm pleased to finally reveal the cover!

My artist, Tony Wilson at Winkipop Designs has once again done a fantastic job of artistically capturing the darkness of the underground world I've created. He does everything by hand rather than working from images and I think he really nailed it this time. In this cover, he portrays an alley deep below the surface of the earth in the Star Realm, where Adele must now travel to seek to find her mother.

Will she find her? And will she be able to help convince the star dwellers to join with the moon dwellers? The fate of the Tri-Realms sits on the edge of a knife, with only one truth that remains: in their world, someone must die.

Without further ado, here's the cover!! I hope you all like it and I can't wait to see what you all think of The Star Dwellers.  Keep on reading!

A special thanks to the 16 bloggers who were so kind to post my cover reveal today! You all are awesome and have super cool blogs, anyone who's looking for some new book blogs to follow, check out these ones!

Should The Moon Dwellers be made into a movie?

As I’ve been preparing to launch the sequel to The Moon Dwellers, called The Star Dwellers, on September 30th, I’ve immersed myself in everything to do with The Moon Dwellers. I recently saw that The Moon Dwellers has been voted to the top of a list of books readers wish would be turned into movies! Needless to say, I was ecstatic and thrilled and excited. Bring on the movie producers! Take my book and cast the characters, chop it up into a thousand sound bites and scenes and Hollywoodize it!!! Sorry, that’s a lot of exclamation points—yes, I was very excited.

But I want to know what you think: Do you think The Moon Dwellers would make a good movie? If so, vote for it at the following link and keep it at #1! I’d also appreciate your thoughts and comments below.

I’ve always been a HUGE movie person, and love it when my favorite books are converted to the big screen, especially when they turn out to be really good, like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, or The Hunger Games, to name just a few. I think that might be part of the reason that when people read my books they can visualize the stories in their head like mini-movies. It’s the same when I write my books. I close my eyes and can vividly picture each scene as it unfolds. Then I just write what I see.

So will any of my books ever be made into movies? I have no idea, but I’d love to give it a try. If anyone knows anyone in the movie biz *wink wink*, I’d be forever in your debt if you send them my way *hint hint*. While I’m waiting for that call, I’ll keep writing, and I hope you all will keep reading.

Happy reading!
