Fire Country Synopsis
In a changed world where the sky bleeds red, winter is hotter than hell and full of sandstorms, and summer's even hotter with raging fires that roam the desert-like country, the Heaters manage to survive, barely.
Due to toxic air, life expectancies are so low the only way the tribe can survive is by forcing women to procreate when they turn sixteen and every three years thereafter. It is their duty as Bearers.
Fifteen-year-old Siena is a Youngling, soon to be a Bearer, when she starts hearing rumors of another tribe of all women, called the Wild Ones. They are known to kidnap Youngling girls before the Call, the ceremony in which Bearers are given a husband with whom to bear children with.
As the desert sands run out on her life's hourglass, Siena must uncover the truth about the Wild Ones while untangling the web of lies and deceit her father has masterfully spun.
THANK YOU!!!
A very special thank you to all of my AMAZING readers, without you I wouldn't be able to do what I do, especially the 900+ members of my Goodreads Fan Group , you know I LOVE YOU all. You make me laugh out loud, blush, and occasionally tear up, my days are better for knowing and interacting with you.
I also have to thank my wife, Adele, you are my number one beta reader, source of inspiration, book cover concept creator, and most of all, my best friend. None of this would mean anything without you.
A GINORMOUS thanks to my marketing team at ShareARead, you never cease to amaze me! A HUGE thanks to both my beta readers and my street team for helping to make Fire Country a better book and for getting the word out! And of course, thank you to my cover artist, Regina Wamba at MaeIDesign for creating the perfect cover for this book.
Whew! I guess that covers it! I can't wait to hear what you all think of Fire Country, I'd love you to comment and tell me! All the best and as always:
HAPPY READING!!
David Estes
Congrats David, the book looks just fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much Julie! You are so kind :)
DeleteReading Moon Dwellers with my 2 teenage daughters now. Bought the whole Dweller series and Fire Country (Kindle). Bought them because they were a genre my daughers like, all highly rated on GoodReads.com and the price was right. We have learned to shy away from the overpriced Kindle books, especially if they are marked "The price was set by the publisher."
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the writing! BTW, Go Steelers! Grew up in Beaver, Pa during the 1970s!
Wow! Thank you so much!! That's amazing, I hoped you enjoyed the read ;) Don't worry, I plan to keep my prices below $5 regardless of how well they sell!
DeleteAnd go Steelers and Pens!! Love my Pittsburgh sports, awesome to meet someone from the area, small world!
Notice you left the Pirates of that list! LOL Last time they were any good was the early 90's before Bonds and Bonilla left. OBTW, it is a small world because I happen to live about 1/4 mile from John Stallworth in Madison, Alabama.
DeleteWe are now on the 3rd book of the Dweller Saga and are really enjoying them. My daughters were dragging their feet on reading them because the titles made them believe they were Sci-Fi. Good luck again with the writing. I work with a guy that writes YA Historical fiction (Jamie Dodson).
Lol! Ugh the Pirates are painful! Last year they were right in it and then lost almost every game in August! But yeah, I remember the good old days with Bonds and Bonilla and all the good pitchers they had :)
DeleteAww that's awesome that you got them reading it despite their objections :) I was a bit worried that the title would give off too much of the scifi vibe but I was hoping the synopsis would counteract it lol! Enjoy the rest of the series!
